ABOUT
Natthapong Samakkaew’s practice centers on drawing, unfolding through rapid, intuitive gestures that capture the fleeting nature of lived experience. Working on-site with pen and small sheets of paper, Samakkaew engages from spaces where cameras are not welcome—such as clubs, darkrooms, and private gatherings—to apply this practice to everyday encounters, transforming immediate impressions into marks that hover between documentation, memory, and abstraction. In the studio, these drawings are expanded across scale and media, resulting in works that reflect queer experiences, personal memories, and the subtle moments of daily life. Samakkaew positions drawing not only as a medium of representation but also as a way of inhabiting and responding to the environment.
