As part of Cruise Path within the Dissident Paths program and a performative encounter by Liz Rosenfeld at Berlin’s Neue Wache, Samakkaew engages in live drawing. Working through direct observation, he responds to the layered historical and affective conditions of a site where state memorialisation of war and dictatorship intersects with the adjacent chestnut grove, long associated with cruising culture. Through sustained attention and drawing, Samakkaew traces the coexistence of public remembrance and queer presence, recording the tensions, encounters, and temporalities that shape the location. The resulting work reflects on the entanglement of history, memory, desire, and embodied experience within public space. The project is developed in collaboration with ReRouting, Cruising Curators, and nGbK Berlin.
